Elliott Bay CrossFit: 100% Effort Every Single Day

Rohan Joseph, the owner and also a coach of Elliott Bay CrossFit describes their gym as a community of like-minded folks that will push you to your limits and will help you reach goals you never thought were achievable, to begin with. And, in doing so, will give you the best hour of your day.

What separates Elliott Bay CrossFit from the rest is their people. Rohan said that that they are not your typical CrossFit gym when it comes to personality. Their community is tight-knit and people really care.  

Rohan also shared with me that the biggest mistake he sees most people commit is when they think that there is only one way to get fit even though there are so many ways to do it.  For instance, those who want to lose weight, think that cardio and heavy sweating for very long periods of time is the only way. Those who want to lift and get the strong need to work on complementary muscle groups.  Or that you must do isolated ab work every day if you want a six-pack. Rohan added, “I'm not trying to say these ways are'nt effective but they're not the end all be all. There are so many different means and methods to accomplish these things and in my opinion, the best way to do it is to mix it as much as possible and don't be afraid to try new things.”

The biggest mistake he sees a lot of other gyms commit is when they try to wow clients with money, shiny new things, classes all day long, etc to essentially buy their loyalty.  At Elliott Bay CrossFit, they want their program to sell their clients to keep them coming back and that's what he believes they do.

Rohan also added that at Elliott Bay CrossFit, you are going to work. They don't believe on easy days (not to say that there are no rest days because you can take those as needed). They believe that, if you're coming in for the daily programming, you're going to be working the whole time. With that in mind, they have people of all shapes, sizes, and ages at Elliott Bay CrossFit. There is no minimum level of fitness, ability, or skill to start, the only thing that they will ask you to do is to give your 100% effort every single day.
